Yes. Repairs are backed by a workmanship warranty on the labor and, where parts are involved, by the part manufacturer’s coverage. Ask any contractor for both — a repair with no warranty is a repair someone expects to fail.
The Two Layers
Labor. Our workmanship warranty covers the repair itself. If the same failure recurs because of how the work was done, we come back and correct it at no charge.
Parts. Replacement components carry the manufacturer’s warranty. Terms vary by part — a capacitor and a compressor are not covered on the same schedule.
The important thing is knowing which applies. A part that fails under manufacturer warranty gets replaced free, but somebody has to install it, and that labor is only free if the installing company covers it.
Check Your Equipment Warranty First
Before paying for any repair, it is worth knowing whether the component is still under coverage from the equipment manufacturer.
Compressors and coils frequently carry long terms — often ten years — and homeowners regularly pay out of pocket for repairs that should have been covered. Registration affects the term on many brands.
We check warranty status before quoting. If something you were about to pay for should be covered, we would rather tell you than take the money.
What Voids Coverage
Manufacturers deny more claims than homeowners expect, and the reasons are consistent.
No documented maintenance. Most warranties require annual professional service. No records, no claim. This is the most common denial by a wide margin.
Restricted airflow. A compressor that failed because a frozen evaporator coil sent liquid refrigerant back to it is a neglect failure, and it traces to a filter nobody changed. Manufacturers know how to identify this.
Improper installation. Incorrect refrigerant charge, undersized equipment, or lines that were never evacuated to a proper vacuum before charging.
Unlicensed work. Many warranties are void outright if unlicensed work was performed on the system.
The Guarantee Behind the Repair
Beyond parts and labor, our Home Comfort Guarantee covers the outcome. If the repair did not solve the problem we said it would solve, that is ours to fix.
This matters because diagnosis is where repairs go wrong. A part can be replaced correctly and the system still not work properly, because the actual cause was somewhere else. Being accountable for the result rather than just the task is what makes a repair warranty meaningful.
What Warranties Do Not Cover
Being straight about the limits.
A repair warranty covers that repair. It does not cover a different component failing later on an aging system — if we replace a capacitor and the compressor fails eight months on, that is a separate failure, not a warranty claim.
Refrigerant is a common point of confusion. If we repair a leak and recharge the system, that repair is warranted. But a system with multiple leaks developing from age is a condition rather than a defect, and at some point replacement is the honest answer.
We will tell you when a repair is a stopgap rather than a fix, so the decision is yours with real information.
Keeping Coverage Alive
Annual AC maintenance is what most warranties require, and it produces the documentation you need if you ever file.
It also prevents the failures that get claims denied — dirty coils, low charge, restricted airflow. Members of our Care Club maintenance plan get service on schedule with records kept, which removes the remembering.
Questions Worth Asking Any Contractor
How long is the labor warranty on this repair? What does the part warranty cover, and for how long? Will you check whether my equipment is still under manufacturer coverage? What maintenance is required to keep it valid?
These are ordinary questions and any legitimate contractor answers them without hesitation.
